On July 5, 2006, the Jackson County Board of Commissioners established the Committee for Citizen Involvement (CCI). The primary role of the CCI is to develop educational programs designed to increase the level of citizens' involvement in the area of land use planning. However, the CCI is not an advocacy organization for taking positions on specific land use development decisions. Rather, the CCI is formed to educate the public on how to participate in the land use process.
