Evidence Based Practices or "What Works" is a transition to more effective case management practices. It is premised on the ability and willingness of offenders to change when appropriately motivated and supported. It involves accurate assessments of an offenders criminiogenic needs and applying the appropriate interventions. The core of Evidence Based Practices is doing assessments, collaborative case planning, and offender interactions that increase motivation, nurture strengths, increase personal responsibility, and enable offenders to give back to the community as well as preventing future criminal behavior.
