After School Program
The After School Program provides additional community based supervision, skill building, and vocational training to youth involved in the juvenile justice system in an effort to prevent youth being placed into an out-of-home residential placement.

youth programProgram Placement
Probation Officers can refer youth to the program or youth can be ordered by the court to attend. Youth can be placed into the program for 1 or more days at a time.

Population Served
The program serves both male and female youth who are in violation of either their conditional release agreement or conditions of probation and would benefit from intervention services offered by the program.

Program Rules
Consequences are used to help teach youth alternative ways to deal with life stressors and be more successful in the community. Consequences can come in the form of assignments, such as reading or writing in nature. Some assignments will be given ahead of time and will be tied to case plan goals and others will be given in response to the behavior youth show while in the program. Youth are expected to work on being responsible for their behavior and seriously work toward learning new skills to help live a crime-free and productive life.

Basic Rules (which could also be a PV or violation of conditional release):
Youth are to behave in a safe manner, without resorting to violence or threats of violence.
Youth are to stay within approved areas and will leave those areas only with staff permission.
Youth are to behave in a polite and respectful manner.
Youth are to respect other people’s boundaries and physical space.
Youth are to respect individual and group privacy.
Youth are not to bring in snacks, drinks, headphones or video games into the program. Youth may have a cell phone but this must be on silent and put away during the program.
