Establish a New Order

When there is no  existing child support order we will initiate a legal action to establish an order, which may also include past support and a medical order.  Both parties are required to provide detailed information and supporting documentation as to their current financial situation for the child support calculation.  By law, the “Oregon Child Support Guidelines” establish a formula that is used to determine ability to pay.  Either party has the right to object to the proposed ordered amount and to participate in an administrative hearing process.  On average a new order is usually finalized in about three to four months.
