Table Rock Road (Biddle to near I-5) Reconstruction Project - Dec 22, 2017 Update

Table Rock Road (Biddle to near I-5) Reconstruction Project - Dec 22, 2017 Update

Construction work (and delays) will return in force starting in Jan/Feb 2018

It's time to get ready for the big construction push to get this roadway project completed.  Prime contractor Knife River will begin working in early 2018 with an anticipated completion date of late 2018.

During this time, motorists are simply asked to avoid the work area.  There are several alternate routes to choose from which will likely provide faster travel times once construction begins.  Other than a relatively small number of residential properties and small commercial operators with direct access to Table Rock Road as their only choice, all other travelers can make a minor change to their route and avoid the work area altogether.

A temporary speed zone of 35 MPH is still in effect and law enforcement agencies will be patrolling this active work zone to ensure the safety of motorists and construction workers.

Major enhancements to be built include curb, gutter, sidewalks, bike lanes and a center turn lane for the full length of the project between Biddle Road and just north of the I-5 overpass.  Biddle Road to Airport Road will end up with four travel lanes (two in each direction) which will match the lane configuration between Biddle Road and Vilas Road to the north.  Between Airport Road and I-5 there will be two travel lanes (one in each direction).  Lastly, a traffic signal will be installed at the intersection with Airport Road.  With a total project cost of $9 million this is clearly a large project which will result in a lot of improvements to the immediate area.

So get ready for big equipment, lots of dirt moving, aggregate everywhere, pipe going in the ground, trenches, flaggers, equipment operators and yes, .....work zone delays.  As noted above, an alternate route, if at all possible, is likely your best choice until this project is complete.

Note for those shopping at Costco: Access to Costco will remain open throughout the project, but using Table Rock Road will likely not be the easiest way to arrive or depart.  For those coming from the south, use Biddle Road to Pine Street (Biddle turns into Pine) to Hamrick Road as your preferred route or use Interstate 5 to Pine Street to Hamrick Road.  In summary, try to stay off of Table Rock Road.
