First off, we (especially including our contractor Knife River) appreciate the motorists who avoided the area altogether as well as those who were patient when travelling through the workzone.
While we don't typically post updates about being done, this project warranted a bit of a celebration based on all the impacts it has had for so long.
With only a few minor things left to accomplish, the vast amount of orange barrels and barricades are gone and won't be back. Instead, the roadway is open and is serving motorists well. From an entirely new signal at Airport Road to bike lanes, sidewalks, center turn lanes, left turn protected bays and other improvements, this facility will serve this area much better than what existed before. And that service improvement clearly includes features for vehicles as well as pedestrians and cyclists.
You may recall our message has been to avoid the area and if you had to go to Costco to use Hamrick Road off Biddle. In the spirit of updates, here is the last word on accessing Costco:
How to get to Costco?
Go whichever way works best for you! And enjoy your trip!
