The history of McKee Bridge spans back in history much longer than its 122' span. With land donated in 1917 to build this structure there is an abundance of history, stories and community support surrounding this entire project.
The McKee Bridge Historical Society has been a critical partner in the maintenance and operation of this facility for many years. Through their efforts, $63,000 was raised as match money for this particular project. With a total project budget of $610,000 there is a lot of work to be accomplished.
Work on the structure is planned to begin on October 13, 2014 with a completion date set for March 2015. Our contractor, Mowat Construction Company of Woodinville, WA was awarded the rehabilitation contract at a cost of $343,434. While the bridge will remain closed to any access during rehabilitation, readers are encouraged to view the website of the McKee Bridge Historical Society for a great history lesson of this area of our county as well as other related information.
The scope of work includes:

- Add rod post-tensioning to provide overall strengthening to the lower chords of both trusses;
