Jackson County Search and Rescue and CORSAR Members Assist in Washington Mudslide

 

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has sent two of its Search and Rescue Human Remain Detection dog teams to Oso, Washington.  The two handlers and their dogs are longtime members of Jackson County Search and Rescue are working to help locate remains in the mudslide area. 

 The handlers and the dogs reported for duty on Monday, March 31, 2014 and will finish with their mission on Saturday, April 5, 2014.  While on duty, the teams are working to search and mark areas where human remains could be located.

 The Jackson County Search and Rescue members are two of six area teams working to assist with the mudslide.  There are a total of six Human Remain Detection dog teams from California-Oregon Regional Search and Rescue (CORSAR) two from Jackson, two from Josephine and two from Douglas counties.
