Suspect in Home Invasion Robbery is Arrested
A suspect in a home invasion robbery is now behind bars. On Wednesday, October 22, 2014, James Turner, 36, of Medford, was booked into the Jackson County Jail on charges of Robbery 1, Robbery 2, Assault 2, Burglary 1, Aggravated Theft 1, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. Bail is set at $1,000,000.
The home invasion robbery took place on May 3, 2014. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2500 block of Pioneer Road, in Talent to conduct a welfare check. Upon arrival the homeowners were found locked in a closest and reported to be the victims of the home invasion robbery.
During the investigation, James Turner and Jason Morgan were identified as suspects in the case. The information was presented to a Jackson County Grand Jury and indictments were handed down regarding both suspects.
On August 25, 2014, Jason Morgan, 36, of Grants Pass, was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail. He was located in a home in Grants Pass. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Marshals, and the Grants Pass Department of Public Safety were involved in Morgan’s arrest. He is currently lodged in the Jackson County Jail on similar charges for the robbery and some additional drug charges. His bail is set at $1,035,000.
The investigation will continue. Further inquiry regarding Jason Morgan or James Turner should be directed at the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office.
