JACKSONVILLE – On Friday, March 5, 2016, at approximately 5 pm, several deputies responded to a stabbing reported by staff at the Applegate Fire Station on Upper Applegate Road. Deputies learned that Jeffrey Scott Ernest Gourneau, 26, stabbed his brother Rodney Lee Gourneau, 25, in the neck while the two fought near McKee Bridge (9000-block of Upper Applegate Road). Jeffrey then drove Rodney to the Applegate Fire Station.

Detectives assumed the investigation. They lodged Jeffrey Gourneau in jail on charges of Attempted Murder and Assault in the First Degree.

Rodney Gourneau was transported by Mercy Flights helicopter to Rogue Regional Medical Center. He remains hospitalized at the time of this release.
