Boat Safety Checks Move to Winter Schedule (Photo)

The summer boating season is over, but you're not out of luck if you need a hull identification number (HIN) inspection or safety equipment check. Jackson County Sheriff's Office marine patrol deputies will continue to offer this free service through the winter months on a reduced schedule.

On the first Saturday of the month from 9 to 10 am, boaters can bring their boats and required equipment to the marine patrol office at 620 Antelope Road, White City. In April, the hours will expand again as we enter the summer boating season.

Anyone with questions can call the Marine Patrol office at 541-864-8830.
