The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is proud to be the first law enforcement agency in Oregon to offer its citizens crime statistical information through CrimeReports.com.  Within this online report program site, members of the general public will be able to view crimes reported to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office within the prior six months in an area.  Please keep in mind that only reports made through the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office will show.  Crimes reported to a municipality’s police department are kept within that department, and will only appear when that agency participates with this site. Crimes will not appear for up to 24 hours.  The current crimes being reported to CrimeReports.com are:
  • HomicideRape
  • Robbery
  • Assault
  • Burglary
  • Theft
  • Vehicle Theft
  • Vehicle Burglary
  • Property Crimes
(to view these crimes along with the above, you will need to check it from the drop-down box entitled “Crime Types”)
  • Arson
(to view these crimes along with the above, you will need to check it from the drop-down box entitled “Crime Types” )
On the homepage of the site, select the state of Oregon from the map. The crimes will appear on a map of the Jackson County area.  Up to 500 crimes are viewable at a time.  As you move about or zoom in on the map, the crimes will adjust.  The site is set up to show you those reported within the last 30 days, but visitors to the site will be able to adjust the date ranges to see crimes committed within the area over the past year.

It is hoped that CrimeReports.com will be of use to local businesses and residents, to ascertain the offenses committed within their neighborhoods.  Realtors, students and others who previously had to wait to have such information compiled for them may now access such directly through CrimeReports.com.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office wishes to acknowledge the invaluable assistance from Southern Oregon Regional Communications on this project, without whose assistance this information would not have been possible.
