May 6, 2020, In direct response to the declared state of emergency from Governor Kate Brown, Avista Utilities has taken steps to support Oregon customers and communities who have been impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak.

April 9, 2020, Along with state and federal recreation providers, Jackson County closed all parks to public use on March 23, 2020 in order to comply with Governor Kate Brown’s “Stay Home, Save Lives” order. 

United Way of Jackson County Raises Funds for COVID-19 Relief

April 8, 2020, United Way of Jackson County has raised over $150,000 for their COVID-19 Fund, which provides grants to individuals and social service nonprofits in the county for extraordinary and emergency expenses related to COVID-19.
