PPE Donation Drive at JC Expo Extended Indefinitely

MEDFORD, OREGON — Jackson County officials have been encouraged by the generosity of both local businesses and individuals who have donated excess PPE equipment. Initially planning on only accepting donations for a week, they have decided to continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

So far companies an people have donated gloves, procedural masks, and N95 masks, along with  large bottles of hand sanitizer and containers of sanitizing wipes.

A group from Ashland and Talent gave 115 homemade procedural masks, and they’re working on making more. The masks are washable and even have replaceable filters.

Local businesses that have dropped off notable donations are Rogue Dental, Hillcrest Family Dentistry, OrCal Rubber & Supply Co., WCP Solutions, Lime Rock LLC, OSU Extension Service, and Southern Oregon Medical Equipment, among others.

“The community is behind us and wanting to take care of healthcare professionals,” says Rob Holmbeck, who is overseeing the donation drop-offs at the Jackson County Expo.

Holmbeck encourages citizens and businesses to continue donating to help medical professionals, first responders, and authorities to prepare for the response to more COVID-19 cases.

“The biggest thing is we need to take care of our frontline people, because they’re going to be the ones taking care of us. I have family who are first responders, friends that are firemen, and it’s important to make sure they’re taken care of,” says Holmbeck.
