Jackson County benefits from its stature as a community large enough to have a variety of educational opportunities to create a robust workforce, yet small enough to work directly with employers to develop custom programs.
 
Southern Oregon University and Rogue Community College formed a partnership to create our one-of-a-kind Higher Education Center. Jackson County’s educational assets also include both private and public high school systems led by some of Southern Oregon’s brightest and most forward-thinking individuals. St. Mary’s School, for example, was the first in the nation to become part of the Confucius Classroom program offering instruction in Mandarin Chinese language and culture. The Oregon Institute of Technology is also generating graduates ready to meet the demands of companies like yours.

	SOU (Southern Oregon University), with campuses located in Ashland and Medford, is a 4-year public university specializing in liberal arts, sciences, and select graduate and professional programs. The rich liberal arts and sciences curriculum is balanced with career-focused preparation. SOU offers 100 areas of study, including 35 majors.
	RCC (Rogue Community College) is a comprehensive two-year community college offering academic and career technical programs and college transfer programs as well as basic skills programs for adults, personal enrichment courses and continuing education credits. RCC offers classes at three locations: Redwood Campus in Grants Pass, Riverside Campus in the heart of downtown Medford and Table Rock Campus, a high tech facility housing professional/technical programs in White City.
	The Higher Education Center (HEC) represents a one-of-a-kind partnership in Oregon between Southern Oregon University (SOU) and Rogue Community College (RCC), strengthening the shared commitment SOU and RCC have had for years. The result of this collaboration is a facility that better serves students and the business community.
	Oregon Institute of Technology offers rigorous, practical education emphasizing the application of theory for real-world solutions. Students of OIT have exciting opportunities for hands-on learning through labs, projects, externships and research guided by faculty who retain their professional connections to industry.
