JACKSON COUNTY, OREGON — The Jackson County Expo, a fairgrounds and exposition park located in Central Point, Oregon announced today that the Senior Talent and Casting Producer for AMERICAN IDOL® has selected the Expo to partner with all County Fairs in Oregon and the Oregon State Fair to find talent for season 22 of AMERICAN IDOL® on ABC.
Jackson County AMERICAN IDOL® Auditions are open to participants who will be 15 to 29 years of age. Those wishing to be considered must complete and submit the AMERICAN IDOL® Audition Application, including a 90 second video file, at https://attheexpo.com/home/american-idol/ by 5:00 pm, July 11, 2023. Ten finalists will be selected to perform live at the Jackson County Fair on Sunday, July 16th. All participating County Fairs winners will showcase live and be professionally filmed at the Oregon State Fair in Salem, Oregon on Saturday, August 26, 2023. Their performance will be viewed by the Senior Talent Producer. The winner of the Oregon State Fair People’s Choice Award will receive a VIP Executive Producer Audition.
Auditions of cover songs are preferred over original songs. Performers must perform alone to a backing track, a cappella, with their own musical accompaniment, or they can have one person accompany them if they don’t play or use a track. Professional sound, videographer, Fair admission, and an award will be provided to all finalists who perform at the State Fair. If a performer is selected to move forward to an AMERICAN IDOL® callback, they will be contacted by an AMERICAN IDOL® producer via phone or email any time between the performance until approximately November 1, 2023.
