There has been much attention on the COVID-19 vaccine booster shot and third dose. Here is some information on how to tell if you need another dose of the COVID19 vaccine.

Did you receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine?
If yes, then you may be eligible for a booster vaccine six months after your second dose if you are one of the following:

Are you immunocompromised?
If you answered yes, and you received the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine:

  • You need a total three doses of the same mRNA vaccine – either Pfizer or Moderna.
  • You should get a third dose of the vaccine at least 28 days after your second dose.
  • All three doses count as your initial vaccine series.

If you get a third dose, you do not need a booster shot.
