As of 12:01 am on May 3, 2021, Jackson County Public Health reports 16 new COVID-19 cases. Additionally, there were two cases with previous reporting dates that have been removed from the overall COVID-19 case total. This brings the total COVID-19 cases in Jackson County to 10,536.

COVID-19 Two-Week Case Data

For weeks 16 & 17 (4/18/2021 – 5/1/2021), there were a total of 599 new COVID-19 cases. This is a case rate of 270.7 cases per 100,000 population. The best way to fight this pandemic and get back to the things and people we love is for everyone to do their part and get vaccinated.

Benefits of Getting Vaccinated

  • COVID-19 vaccination will help keep you from getting COVID-19
  • Once you are fully vaccinated, you can start doing more:
    • Visit inside a home or private setting without a mask with other fully vaccinated people
    • Visit inside a home or private setting without a mask with one household of unvaccinated people of any age who are not at risk of severe illness
    • Travel domestically and internationally without a pre or post travel test
    • Travel domestically and internationally without quarantining after travel
    • If you have been fully vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine and it’s been at least 14 days since your final dose, you are no longer required to quarantine if you have had close contact with someone with COVID-19.
  • COVID-19 vaccination is a safer way to help build protection. COVID-19 can have serious, life-threatening, complications and there is no way to know how COVID-19 will affect you. And if you get sick, you could spread the disease to friends, family, and others around you.
  • COVID-10 vaccinations are an important tool to help stop the pandemic
  •  None of the COVID-19 vaccines can make you sick with COVID-19
