Jackson County Budget Committee to Hold Public Meetings Via Webinar

MEDFORD, OREGON - The Jackson County Budget Committee will meet to begin reviewing department budgets for fiscal year 2020-2021 on Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at 8:30 a.m., and continue to Thursday, April 16, 2020.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Budget Committee meetings will be hosted via webinar, and they can be watched on RVTV Cable Channel 181, which is also streamed live via the County website at https://jacksoncountyor.org/County/Video-TV.  The public may also join by phone; details on how to join by phone are specific to the meeting day and are included on meeting agendas posted on the County’s Event Calendar.  The public may also attend the meetings in the Courthouse Auditorium; however, occupancy is limited to 10 people to be in the Auditorium at once and individuals may be asked to wait outside (while maintaining physical distancing) until capacity allows entry.

The opportunity for public comment on the recommended budget will be provided at the conclusion of the department reviews on Thursday, April 16, beginning at 10:15 a.m.  Due physical distancing requirements, the Budget Committee is encouraging the public to submit comments in writing, either by mail to 10 South Oakdale, Room 214, Medford OR 97501, or by email to publichearing@jacksoncounty.org; written comment must be received by 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, 2020, to be accepted into the meeting record.  All written correspondence must include the author’s name and address.

During the public comment period on April 16, 2020, live audio comment via videoconference may also be provided by emailing publichearing@jacksoncounty.org to register; registration requests must be received by 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 16th.  Upon registration, you will be sent an invitation and instructions for when it is your turn to speak.  The public may also speak in person at the Courthouse Auditorium during the public comment period although, again, in order to maintain physical distancing requirements, individuals may be asked to wait outside of the Auditorium until capacity allows entry.
