Jackson County EOC Recognizes Efforts of Chamber to Help Businesses Navigate COVID-19 Pandemic

[Medford, Oregon] — April 23, 2020, As local businesses continue to adapt to the statewide guidelines put in place by Governor Kate Brown, the Chamber of Medford & Jackson County is working with Jackson County officials to make sure business owners have the resources necessary to weather the storm. “Our team at the Chamber is working 24/7 to help our local economy and our local businesses come together,” says Brad Hicks, President & CEO of the Chamber of Medford & Jackson County.

Many small and medium business owners have had to make difficult decisions in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. One of the Chamber’s largest efforts to help business owners make those decisions is the Southern Oregon Strong project, which provides relevant resources for business owners and helps distribute information about local businesses to the greater community. “Chambers of Commerce has in their DNA this ability to lead through challenging times,” says Hicks. “In that spirit, Southern Oregon Strong was developed to be encouraging and provide inspiration to business owners to keep fighting and keep your doors open.”

As discussions on how to reopen Jackson County begin to take place, officials from both the County and the Chamber are working to develop strategies and help businesses maintain proper health practices moving forward. “Small businesses are a crucial part of Jackson County’s economy,” adds Jackson County Commissioner Rick Dyer. “The work the Chamber is doing has touched every member of our community, and we will continue to support their efforts so that our local businesses can survive.”
