If you need medical care, even for health reasons not related to COVID-19, it is important that you do not hesitate to access medical care, especially if it is an emergency. Call your doctor ahead of time to schedule an appointment; they may schedule a phone consultation or even use telemedicine in replacement of a face-to-face appointment. It is important to call the doctor’s office or urgent care centers before showing up to seek medical care. Ask your provider if filling your prescriptions for 60-days, thus minimizing the need to see the provider for prescription refills, is an option. If you have a life-threatening emergency, please call 9-1-1 and seek medical attention immediately.
COVID-19 spreads between people who are in close contact (within 6ft) of one another, through droplets from coughing, sneezing, and even talking. In order to stop the spread of COVID-19 in our communities, staying home as much as possible and practicing physical distancing remain important strategies. It is also important to continue washing your hands frequently, use hand sanitizer if you do not have access to soap and water, stay home if you are sick, and wear an alternative mask when in public accessing essential services.
We can all continue to work together to keep our community healthy. Jackson County Public Health wants to thank the community for acting during this time; your efforts have helped flatten the curve and have kept the community safe and healthy.
