The City of Talent, with participating jurisdictions Phoenix and Jackson County, plans to apply for $150,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding through Business Oregon for the 2020 Emergency Small Businesses and Micro-Enterprise Grant Assistance Program. The Program aims to provide COVID19-related Emergency Assistance to help businesses remain solvent and be ready/able to rebuild and/or reopen. The City of Talent will serve as the lead applicant; SOREDI will serve as the subgrantee/administrator. If awarded, funds will be made available to qualifying small businesses and microenterprises in participating jurisdictions via an application process open to the public. A public meeting, hosted by the City of Talent, to discuss the proposal will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at 3:00 p.m. To comply with Governor Brown's stay at home order, in-person testimony will not be allowed at public hearings.
