MEDFORD, OREGON — the media is invited to attend a special POW/MIA flag dedication ceremony on Friday, March 30, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. The Ceremony will be held at Singler Plaza located in front of the Jackson County Jail building at 787 W. 8th Street in Medford, Oregon.
The event will feature comments by state and county officials and Commander Hugh Crawford –VFW Post 1833.
“Jackson County is so honored to be part of this moment for those that are listed as missing in action and past prisoners of war,” said Commissioner Bob Strosser (Army 11th Pathfinder Detachment Team 1), “as a combat veteran this will be a great moment for me personally and for the entire Board of Commissioners. ”
“We should never forget our own or leave them behind, our job is not done,” says State Representative Sal Esquivel, “This flag will remind us of this daily.”
The dedication ceremony will include a special presentation to World War II POW’s, recognizing their sacrifice and service.
