Statewide Mask, Face Shield, and Face-Covering Mandate

Effective July 1st

Statewide Mask, Face Shield, and Face-Covering Mandate

Effective July 1, 2020, people inside a public building, such as the Rogue Valley International-Medford Airport, are required to wear a face-covering per the Governor’s Order.  The Airport supports the requirements where applicable as many services are delivered in a public facility and for the added protection of our employees and tenants. Signs have been posted at all doors to notify the public of this requirement.

Face covers are NOT required for the public or employees and will be exempt from the new requirements:

  • When eating and drinking.
  • When participating in a meeting and wearing a face cover causes audio difficulties and when six feet of physical distance can be maintained.
  • If a physical or mental disability prevents the individual from wearing a face cover.
  • If a medical condition makes it hard to breathe when wearing a face cover.
  • For children under twelve years of age, although children two to eleven may be encouraged to wear a face cover.
  • While communicating with an individual who needs to read lips or see facial expressions.
  • If otherwise allowed by the Oregon Judicial department or a Presiding Judge Order, or by a County department based on operational needs.

All employees will wear face cover when:

  • Serving the public in a facility where there is no barrier at the point of interaction, such as plexiglass or a window.
  • Interacting with co-workers within common areas, and work and meeting spaces, when six-feet for physical distance is not possible.
  • Working outside when there is interaction with the public.
  • Entering businesses and other public facilities as part of their work on behalf of the Airport.
