Tax time is the process of compiling all data and functions performed in the Assessor’s Office throughout the year that determines the taxes assessed for all jurisdictions throughout the county. The tax time process ensures that all aspects of Measure 5 and Measure 50 are performed according to law and in the end, produces the Summary of Assessment and Levies (SAL) report. This process determines the tax rate for each tax code, how much new construction is assessed and ultimately the entire process certifies the amount of taxes due on any property in Jackson County.
