Public Hearing History

  • On November 28, 2007, Jackson County Board of Commissioners held deliberations where the draft ordinance and related materials were approved for adoption.
  • On October 24, 2007, Jackson County Board of Commissioners held a Continued Remand Hearing.

  • On September 26, 2007, Jackson County Board of Commissioners held a Second Remand Hearing.

  • On July 18, 2007, Jackson County Board of Commissioners held a First Remand Hearing.

  • On May 9, 2007 The State of Oregon Court of Appeals affirmed LUBA's decision without an opinion.

  • On February 5, 2007 LUBA provided their Final Opinion and Order remanding the ordinance back to Jackson County. See LUBA No. 2006-185
  • Multiple Appeals were filed with Oregon Land Use Board of Appeals (LUBA), therefore the ordinance will not go into effect until all appeals have been resolved.

  • A public hearing for the second reading on Rural Use Plan Designations was held on Wednesday, September 20, 2006, at 1:30 pm at the same location.

    At the completion of the second hearing, the Board of Commissioners adopted Ordinance  No. 2006-8, including revisions to the Jackson County Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Ordinance. The revisions reflect provisions for Rural Use Zoning Map Designation and Zoning District.

In accordance with Section 14(8) of the Jackson County Charter, this ordinance was scheduled to go into effect 60 days after it was signed. The ordinance was signed on September 20th, 2006, therefore the ordinance was set to go into effect on November 19th, 2006.

  • Jackson County Board of Commissioners held a public hearing on Wednesday, August 30, 2006, at 9:30 a.m. at the Jackson County Courthouse Building, 10 South Oakdale, Medford, Oregon. The public hearing was for the first reading of proposed amendments to the Jackson County Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Ordinance to expand uses and development densities permitted in the Rural Use Plan Designation and Zoning District.
