Crisis Therapist Now Embedded Within Local Police Departments
Through grant funding from the Oregon Health Authority, Jackson County Crisis Therapist Taji Allen has been embedded within the Ashland, Phoenix, and Talent police departments to provide mobile crisis services. The opportunity to have an embedded mental health worker was welcomed by law enforcement, and they are learning to draw on Ms. Allen's expertise when dealing with a wide range of situations involving people experiencing mental illness.
The Medford Mail Tribune and the Ashland Daily Tidings recently posted articles regarding the new partnership between Jackson County Mental Health and Law Enforcement, and the links can be accessed below. Please contact Anna D'Amato at 541-774-8014 for more information.
