Housing:
Renters: Are you exposed to unwanted secondhand smoke at home? Find out what you can do!
Landlords: Want to save money in cleaning and maintenance and reduce your risks of fire and liability? It is completely legal to adopt a no-smoking policy for your rentals, and the market is there for you. All across Oregon, landlords are adopting no-smoking policies and seeing that they are very good for business. As of Jan. 1, 2010, the Oregon Landlord Disclosure Law requires landlords, as part of the rental agreement, to disclose their smoking policy. The disclosure must identify whether smoking is prohibited on the premises, allowed on the entire premises, or allowed in limited areas on the premises.
