Traffic Safety Advisory Board

The Traffic Safety Advisory Board (TSAB) is a multi-agency meeting where public participation is expected and welcomed.  Held on the 2nd Friday of each month at our offices in White City, meetings start at 9:30 AM and usually last about 60-90 minutes depending on the discussion.  Staffed with representatives from many different disciplines and jurisdictions, this meeting is a perfect opportunity for concerned citizens to bring transportation-related questions and concerns and get answers - many times with perspectives given from multiple agencies.

Participants typically include transportation officials from state, county and city jurisdictions as well as state and county law enforcement officers.  Topics can span from pedestrian safety to speeding vehicles, from sight-distance issues to DUII enforcement efforts.  State routes, county roads and city streets are all open for topics of discussion.  Since speed concerns can be a frequent topic of discussion, please consider reviewing our Traffic Control - Signs and Speed Zones page for more detailed information on this important issue.

With no standing agenda, this group functions more like a round-table discussion of those who are able to attend including the officials mentioned above as well as the citizens in attendance.  The group has an educational focus to foster improved understanding of the various issues surrounding transportation.

Prior meeting minutes are available on this webpage and are a great way to become familiar with the various topics discussed as well as the Traffic Safety Advisory Board Mission Statement.  Please consider attending an upcoming meeting if you have questions about transportation or want to learn more.  Lastly, our partners at ODOT publish a great newsletter titled Making An Impact which fits nicely with the mission of this committee.

If an accommodation, auxiliary aid, or service is needed to participate in a County meeting, please contact the Human Resources Office at, (541)774-6036, TTY/TDD 711, or (800)735-2900. Requests made at least 48 hours prior to the meeting, preferably in writing, will assist County staff in providing the accommodation.

The video segments below give some further information about this important group.  Thanks for watching!
