Jackson County Roads is focused on maintaining our public road system and we are out working almost every day of the year.  This work can have an impact on motorists, and therefore we want to tell you where we plan to be working.  To see a daily list of locations, just open the PDF to the left under the 'Happening Today' title.  For our larger projects there is more information offered below and on the left.  If you have questions about our short-term or long-term projects which are not answered here, please send us an email or give us a call at 541.774.8184.

Please note the information in our Daily Projects PDF is a snapshot of what we expect to accomplish each day, yet is subject to change.

Wheeler Road Temporary Closure at Bridge #360

Wheeler Road Temporary Closure at Bridge #360

Detour will be in place May 2-5, 2017

Author: Roads/Tuesday, April 25, 2017/Categories: Wheeler Road Bridge #360 Replacement

Our work to replace Bridge #360 on Wheeler Road, which crosses Snider Creek, continues next week with the need to install foundation piles on both sides of the structure.  This work will require a temporary closure of the bridge with a detour in place for local residents to use.

The closure will begin at approximately 7AM on Monday, May 2, 2017 and will remain in effect through Friday, May 5, 2017.  The short detour will require local residents on the west side areas of the bridge to access Wheeler Road using the northerly intersection with Tresham Lane.

Once this work is completed, the road will reopen for a time while other preliminary work is completed.  Another closure during this summer season will occur when the old bridge is entirely removed and replaced with a new concrete structure.  Pre-cast concrete beams will be used in the new structure which will shorten the closure time significantly.

If you have any questions about this project please contact us.
