Slurry Seal Work - Starts 9/1/21

Our contractor, Doolittle Construction, will be performing slurry seal work on various streets in the White City area and on Dean Creak Road in the near future.  Work is planned to begin on September 1, 2021, and will occur during September and October.  This work is weather dependent so delays are possible.

Overall, approximately 60 different street sections in the White City residential areas will be treated.  Many are local residential streets, but portions of other roads including Avenue G, Avenue H, Atlantic Avenue, Avenue A and Antelope Road will be treated.  Additionally, Dean Creek Road (off of Blackwell Road near Exit 35) will receive a slurry seal application.

Slurry seal is a combination of emulsified asphalt and aggregate, mixed and placed over the existing asphalt pavement.  It is a wearing surface designed to protect, preserve and extend the life of the existing surface.  The treatment, once applied, usually takes 3-5 HOURS to fully cure and receive traffic, of any kind. This requires a full street closure to all traffic during application and the dry time.

Streets that are to receive this treatment will have "No Parking" signs placed along the street at least 48 HOURS prior to the work being started. These signs will have specific dates and times stating street parking and traffic time restrictions.  Expect some delays and choose alternate routes when work is occuring in your area.  Alternate parking will be available on nearby streets.  PLEASE NOTE: VEHICLES PARKED ON STREETS THE DAYS POSTED FOR RESURFACING WILL BE TOWED.

Please avoid the construction areas if at all possible.  Watch for construction signs and activity and slow down when around workers and equipment.  To watch a sample of Doolittle’s slurry seal application process, go to
