Our volunteers are deployed for Search and Rescue Missions, including the following: Ground, Water, Snow, Air, and Evidence Searches; along with Traffic Control, Sandbagging, Evacuations, and Roadblocks during Disaster Events such as Wildfires, Floods, Windstorms, etc.
During the last three years our SAR volunteers participated in 312 Missions of which involved missing, stranded, or injured persons. Jackson County Sheriff’s Office SAR volunteers logged 56,089.75 Search Mission hours. Based on the National dollar value of volunteer time ($20.85), Jackson County saved over $1,169,471.29 in wages.
