Jackson County Sheriff’s Office SAR also has specialized units to assist in our searches – the ATV Team, ESAT, the Snow Response Unit, the Mounted SAR Unit (Horses), the Air Wing Unit, the K9 Team, and the Technical Rope Rescue Team.

In addition to each unit’s specialized training, all SAR members must have a minimum of 30 hours of continuing training per year.

During the last three years our SAR volunteers participated in 293 training events logging 25,600 training hours.  Based on the National dollar value of volunteer time ($20.85), Jackson County saved over $533,760.00 in wages.
