When a prisoner is sentenced to the custody of the Oregon Corrections Division (Penitentiary), they may be transferred within one day or the process could take several weeks.

For the security of the transporting officers, a prisoner will not be told when the transfer will occur.

If the prisoner is being transferred to another correctional facility, excess clothing, property or extra storage items WILL NOT be transferred with them.
