Burglary Suspect Eludes, Barricades in Residence, SWAT Makes Arrest Without Incident

MEDFORD, Ore. - Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies responded to a call today at 12:21 p.m. for a burglary in the 13300 block of Highway 234 in rural Gold Hill. Deputies responded to the scene and relayed suspect and vehicle description. ECSO Dispatch put out an attempt to locate to local law enforcement for the vehicle.
At 12:51 p.m. Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers and Medford Police Department (MPD) officers located the vehicle in the 3200 block of Crater Lake Avenue and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle eluded towards Delta Waters Road, running several red lights, and law enforcement discontinued their traffic stop.
JCSO deputies went to the suspect’s listed address where he barricaded inside the residence in the 2700 block of Wilkshire Drive in Medford. JCSO SWAT Team responded along with deputies, MPD, and OSP, surrounded the residence, and began making announcements for the suspect to give himself up peacefully.
The suspect exited the residence at 1:24 p.m. and was taken into custody without incident. The suspect, Parker Joseph Latham, 31, of Medford, was booked and lodged in the Jackson County Jail. He is charged with burglary and elude. This case is open and active with JCSO deputies and detectives conducting further investigations. There is no additional information available for release.
