Deputies Investigate Eagle Point Crash

Case 20-303

On January 5, 2020 at 7:42pm Jackson Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a serious traffic collision at Bigham Brown Road and Alta Vista Dr. in Eagle Point.

Vehicle #1 was found to be a recently stolen vehicle out of Medford PD. The vehicle was reported traveling at extremely high speeds and driving recklessly prior to the collision. When the suspect vehicle ran through the stop sign at the intersection it collided with vehicle #2.

The driver of the suspect vehicle is, Alfred Lee Walker Jr., dob 05-20-1965, Medford, Oregon.

Passengers in the suspect vehicle were:

Cheyenne Eagle Cortez, dob 06/26/1995, Medford, Oregon.

Tiffani Cortez, dob 06/15/1996, Medford, Oregon.

All three subjects in the suspect vehicle were transported to Rogue Regional Medical Center.

The driver of the vehicle that the suspect vehicle collided with is David Glen Cain, 59 years old of Eagle Point, Oregon. He was driving a 2000 Ford one-ton pickup.

Preliminary information indicates the driver had a blood alcohol level nearly twice the legal limit.

The case will be referred to the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office for review of charges including: DUII-alcohol, Assault II, Reckless Driving and Recklessly Endangering Another Person. The suspect was cited as he was not released from the hospital for lodging.

MPD is investigating the robbery case involving the stolen car.
