Deputies Investigate Overnight Mail Theft (Photo)

EAGLE POINT, Ore. - Jackson County Sheriff's Office deputies are investigating a string of mail thefts that occurred overnight. On Thursday, February 28, 2018, residents along the length of Rogue River Drive, between Highway 234 and Highway 62, reported finding open mailboxes and missing mail.

Deputies searching the area found piles of discarded mail. The found items will be turned over to the US Postal Service. Deputies and postal officials will work together to return mail that has been found and to complete the investigation. Residents who believe they are missing a particular piece of mail should contact the local post office.

Deputies would like to hear from anyone in the area with surveillance cameras that may have captured the incident, as well as anyone who may have knowledge of the thefts. Those with information can call dispatch at (541) 776-7206.
