Deputies Search for Missing Woman (Photo)
ROGUE RIVER, Ore. – Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies and search and rescue (SAR) personnel are searching for a woman reported missing north of Rogue River. The woman went for a walk late Friday morning and has not returned.
On Friday, October 19, 2018, at approximately 11:15 a.m., Rosie Spiers, 62, left a relative’s home in the 4500-block of East Evans Creek Road to go for a walk. Spiers is with her two dogs, a German wirehair pointer and a white West Highland terrier. A relative reported Spiers missing at 1:43 p.m.
Spiers is visiting and is unfamiliar with the area. She is described as a white female with blond hair. She is four feet, eleven inches tall with a thin build.
A resident of Forest Hills Drive reported seeing a woman matching Spiers‘ description at approximately 12:15 p.m. The location is approximately one mile from where Spiers began her walk. The nearby area includes private property and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land.
