Detectives Arrest Murder Suspect

The man who shot and killed a 23-year-old Medford man Friday evening is in jail. Detectives lodged Bradley Robert Quillen (pictured), 26, of Medford, on charges of Murder and Unlawful Use of a Weapon, as well as several warrants. 

On Friday, April 1 at 1832 hours, dispatch began receiving 911 calls regarding an incident in the 7-Eleven parking lot at 3960 S. Pacific Highway, Medford (just north of Phoenix). Callers reported a physical fight and a possible shooting involving three males. Two of the males ran from the scene.

Officers arrived to find a male down on the roadway with a single gunshot wound. Resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. Miguel Angel Delfin, 23, of Medford, died at the scene.

A short time later, deputies located and arrested Quillen in a mobile home park located across the highway from the 7-Eleven. They also arrested Gladys Diarte, 18, of Medford, for interfering with the investigation and an unrelated warrant. Two subjects contacted by officers during the initial search for suspects were arrested on warrants unrelated to the case.

On Saturday, April 2, 2016, detectives served a search warrant at a mobile home associated with Quillen and Diarte. Items of evidence were seized.

Miguel Delfin’s family has been notified of his death. The Jackson County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy this week. Detectives still need to speak with the third male involved in the initial altercation. He has been identified; however, his name will not be released at this time.
