Eight DUII Arrests Over Thanksgiving Weekend

Over the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend, Jackson County Sheriff's Office deputies made eight arrests for driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII). From November 22 to 26, 2017, deputies participated in saturation patrols to find impaired drivers. Citations were also issued for speeding and other violations.

The following is a brief summary of the DUII arrests:

11/22 - On Wednesday night, a citizen called to report a suspected impaired driver on Table Rock Road. A deputy located the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was found to be impaired by alcohol.

11/23 - Deputies made one arrest after a crash in White City around noon on Thanksgiving day. The driver was arrested for DUII, hit and run, and criminal mischief.

11/24 - On Friday night, one of two arrests involved a driver charged with felony DUII, indicating at least two prior convictions. The other arrest involved a driver with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.32%.

11/25 - On Saturday night, deputies made four DUII arrests around the county. Three of the four arrests involved drivers impaired by alcohol, while one driver was impaired by marijuana.

Impaired driving can have deadly consequences. If you see an impaired driver on the roadway, call law enforcement immediately. You could save a life.
