JCSO Hosts "Coffee with a Cop" Tuesday

MEDFORD, Ore. – The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) invites citizens to chat over a cup of coffee this Tuesday.  The “Coffee with a Cop” event will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on October 30, 2018, at Debby’s Diner, 3808 S. Pacific Highway.

The informal atmosphere allows residents to interact with deputies when they aren’t busy with emergencies, investigations, and other duties.  “Coffee with a Cop” originated in 2011 in Hawthorne, Calif., as a way for local law enforcement officers to engage with community members.  Since then, the idea has spread across the United States and beyond.

JCSO is planning quarterly “Coffee with a Cop” events around the county in order to reach citizens in a variety of neighborhoods.  For more information – or to offer to host a future event – please contact Sgt. Julie Denney by phone at (541) 770-8927 or by email at denneyja@jacksoncounty.org.
