JCSO Weekly Update - Corrections

Having a friend or family member in jail can be a confusing, frustrating situation.  We have compiled information and resources to help you obtain information and navigate the system.

The first resource is the Jackson County Jail website.  This page contains a wide range of information regarding the Corrections Division.  The links include information about the bail system, contacting/visiting an inmate, receiving phone calls from inmates, and many other important topics.  

One of the options is the “Current Inmate List.”  Click there to see a list of all people currently in custody, their charges, the dates they were lodged in jail, and their bail amounts.  The list is continuously updated.  Sometimes it takes a few hours for a new inmate to be processed and appear on the website. 

If you do not have internet access, you can call the jail directly at (541) 774-6850.  You will hear an automated message with options for the information or assistance you need.

We have a video monitor in our lobby that has information that may be of interest to the general public.  This includes the history of the jail, photos of areas inside the jail, and topics that answer common questions people have about the jail lodging process.

If an inmate has been moved to the Community Justice Transition Center (Work Center), they will no longer appear on the “Current Inmate List” on our website.  For more information, you can contact the Transition Center by phone at (541) 774-6610 for males or (541) 774-4911 for females.  For online information, check out the Transition Center website.

For up-to-date information regarding court appearances for inmates, the best source is the Jackson County Circuit Court.  The phone number is (541) 776-7171 and their website can be found at www.courts.oregon.gov/Jackson.  The courthouse has video monitors in the lobby that provide a running list of the daily court docket.  This includes the name of the defendant, the courtroom number, and the time of appearance.

Oftentimes, having a loved one lodged in jail can create a hardship for families.  Here is a list of services that may be of use to those with a family member who is incarcerated:
