JCSO Weekly Update - Sheriff Falls
I want to take advantage of this weekly update to express my gratitude. We have received an outpouring of support from Jackson County residents over the past couple of weeks. It is extremely apparent and much appreciated.
These are tough times in law enforcement. As I write this update, my thoughts and prayers are with the San Diego Police Department. Two officers were shot in in the line of duty there last night – one has died.
We witnessed violence in our own community this week as our detectives investigate two homicides that occurred within twelve hours of each other. As an organization budgeted to provide a minimal level of service, such incidents are very taxing. We could not do it without support from other agencies.
I want to take this time to personally thank our partnering law enforcement agencies who assisted: Oregon State Police; Medford Police Department; Ashland Police Department; Central Point Police Department; Oregon State Police Forensics Unit; and, the Jackson County District Attorney’s Office. You each played an integral role in assisting us.
As the Sheriff, I want thank citizens across the county. I know that accepting help from other agencies draws resources from all of your communities.
Thank you for your support.
