K9 and Deputies Find Drugs, Guns
On the afternoon of March 27, 2016, a deputy on patrol in the Gold Hill area observed a possible domestic disturbance between a male and female. The two got into a vehicle and the male driver committed a traffic violation as they left the area.
The vehicle, a silver Mercedes, eluded the deputy. A short time later, other deputies arriving in the area located the suspect vehicle parked and unoccupied.
Deputies set up a perimeter. With the help of our K9 and some good tips from citizens who phoned in possible sightings of the suspects, the search area was narrowed. Deputies searched a building under construction in the 100-block of Wards Creek Road and found both suspects hiding inside.
Your deputies also recovered several firearms, which the male suspect is prohibited from possessing. The male was lodged in jail and the female was cited and released. The case is still under investigation.
We want to thank the Oregon State Police, the Rogue River Police Department, and the citizens who assisted with this case. This was a great team effort!
