Anonym / Monday, July 28, 2014 / Categories: News Man Arrested For Assault Man Arrested for AssaultOn Sunday, July 27, 2014 at 12:05 p.m. the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the wooded area adjacent to 2253 Highway 99, in Ashland for a report of an assault. Deputies were met by the victim, Isaac Lindsey, 28 years old, from Ashland, who said he and three other people were confronted by Jon Coldwate, 45, of Ashland over the living arrangements on the hillside. Coldwate came towards the group swinging a machete and screaming he was going to kill them. Lindsey says he stepped in front of the group and was cut by the machete in the palm of his hand. The cut was extremely deep and required numerous stitches. The group told deputies, Coldwate and left the area before law enforcement arrived.A K-9 team was called in to begin a search of the area. Coldwate was not located. However, later Sunday evening, around 8:34 p.m. a Jackson County Sheriff’s deputy arrested Coldwate after being given information about his current whereabouts.Coldwate was transferred to the Jackson County Jail and charged with Assault (1) and Menacing.
