Man robbed at Knifepoint
On July 7, 2014 at 10:25 a.m. the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Bear Creek Greenway for a report of a robbery at knifepoint. The victim, a 69 year old Central Point man was walking down the bike path in Central Point when he was approached by a man, who has been identified as Christopher P. Devine, 37, of Medford. Devine tried to forcefully steal the victim’s cell phone, but when the victim tried to fend him off, Devine threatened the victim with a knife and took the phone The victim was not injured during the robbery.
Devine is currently on probation though Jackson County Community Justice. He often frequents homeless shelters and the Bear Creek Greenway between Central Point and Medford. Following the incident, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and Central Point Police Department searched the bike path between Medford and Central Point. Devine was not located. Homeless shelters have also been notified to contact law enforcement if Devine is seen.
At this point, Christopher Devine is considered armed and dangerous. If anyone sees him, use caution and call 911. Devine was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with cut off sleeves and jeans. Devine is 5’10” and weighs 165 pounds. He has short or shaved brown hair and may possibly have a blonde Mohawk.
