Original release 7/5/18:
Ashland, Ore. - The American Red Cross has opened an emergency shelter in Ashland for people displaced by the Klamathon Fire burning in Northern California.
Those who are in need of assistance should report to Ashland High School, located at 201 S. Mountain Avenue, Ashland.
The shelter was requested by California Highway Patrol after some residents near Hilt, Calif. were forced to evacuate to the north. The closure of Interstate 5 at the Oregon-California border has prevented some evacuees from accessing a Red Cross shelter in Yreka, Calif.
