The suspect then eluded northbound on Crater Lake Highway. A JCSO deputy deployed another spike strip at the 6700 block of Crater Lake Highway and the eluding vehicle was successfully disabled. The suspect, Richard Wallace Carlyle II, 41, of Medford was taken into custody and lodged in the Jackson County Jail.
