Sheriff’s Office / Wednesday, January 27, 2016 / Categories: News Suspect Shot by Citizen While Fleeing Scene of Crime On January 27th at 07:50 AM, Jackson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a man shot at the Agate Road parking lot on the Denman Game Reserve. It was discovered a 36 year old White City male was shot with a shotgun while fleeing the scene of a crime. The male sustained injury due to being struck by several small shotgun pellets. Initial investigation revealed the 36 year old male was found by duck hunters severely damaging and breaking into their parked vehicle. When confronted, the male took with him stolen property from the vehicle and fled on a bicycle. A hunter fired a 12 gauge shotgun at the fleeing male causing injury. The male was transported to a local hospital by EMS for treatment of his injuries At this time, no arrests have been made. The case is currently under investigation.
