Two Arrested After High Speed Crash

WHITE CITY, ORE. (Friday, November 28, 2014) Two people were arrested on Friday after they attempted to avoid law enforcement.  Joshua Brewer, 26, of Central Point, was driving a silver Mercury Cougar travelling eastbound on Vilas Road when he passed a JCSO deputy working Traffic Patrol.  The deputy’s automated plate reader indicated a hit on a suspended male driver with no insurance.  While the deputy stopped to turn around and look at the DMV photo, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed onto McLoughlin Drive.

As the deputy attempted to get closer to the suspect vehicle to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle approached the intersection of Corey Road and Randall Avenue too fast and started skidding.  The Mercury slid through the intersection and into an irrigation ditch.  Brewer immediately jumped out of the vehicle and fled to the east, while the female passenger, Brittney Jenkins, 28, of Central Point, fled to the west.

Jenkins was found inside a residence, where she had burst in and attempted to hide.  Brewer was found a short distance away hiding in a small patch of brush.

Both individuals were caught and arrested by JCSO deputies.  Brewer was lodged for Elude-foot, Hit and Run, Driving While Suspended, Reckless Driving, Criminal Mischief II, and on a Probation Violation.  Jenkins was arrested on a Probation Violation and had other pending charges.  Both are still lodged at the Jackson County Jail.
